Ind. Courts - LaPorte County Judge Steven King is well on the road to a full recovery

The Michigan City News-Dispatch reports that:

Superior Court 2 Judge Steven King is well on the road to a full recovery after suffering a stroke six weeks ago.

Speaking from his home Thursday, King said he plans to be back in office on Jan. 2. Until then, he said he will stop in the courthouse occasionally to say hi, re-orient himself and check his e-mail.

Porter County Senior Judge Thomas Webber has filled in at Superior Court 2. * * *

King said his speech therapy is complete and added his main goal is to regain the full use of his left hand, which he said doctors told him would be the last thing to come back. * * *

King - a Democrat who was first elected in 1990 - is in the middle of his third six-year term, which expires in 2008.
