Ind. Decisions - 7th Circuit posts four today
The defendants appeal these sentences, claiming that the district court erred in failing to make precise calculations of the total offense levels and corresponding sentencing ranges under the United States Sentencing Guidelines (“Guidelines”). We agree, and therefore vacate the sentences and remand for resentencing. The fourth case is Harper v. Vigilant Insurance, an Illinois case. It involves a now deceased plaintiff, who was trying to recover from the man who allegedly infected her with HIV/AIDS, via his parents' homeowners insurance policy.
