Ind. Courts - LaGrange County considering adding cameras to Courthouse
"Council hears courthouse camera pitch" is the headline to a story today from WTHD 105.5. Some quotes:
LAGRANGE - LaGrange County Council members got the chance to ask questions about a proposed video conferencing system for the LaGrange County Courthouse this morning.Access the story online for audio links.
The nearly 25-thousand dollar camera and projector system would allow most prisoners to have their initial court appearances from the jail, according to Bob Murphy, the county’s information technology director. (listen)
Murphy says the cameras would also double as a security feature in the courthouse. (listen)
County Commissioners want to pay for the new system from county’s share of river boat gambling taxes. Council expects to take action on the funding request when they meet next month.
