Ind. Courts - Possibly five filing for two new Hendricks County court seats

The Indianapolis Star reports today:

The announced candidates for judge are Michael Jeffries, a private practice lawyer; Scott Knierim, a deputy prosecutor from Morgan County; Hendricks County Deputy Prosecutor Stephenie LeMay-Luken; and Hendricks County Magistrate Mark Smith.

The candidates -- all Republicans -- have filed paperwork that allows them to raise money for a campaign for the May primary. Filing for the primary begins Jan. 18.

In addition, the story reports:
Herb D. Witham, a private practice attorney, could join a list of four other candidates for the new superior courts, which the General Assembly created last year. Hendricks County currently has three superior courts in addition to the circuit court.
