Ind. Courts - New Porter County prosecutor planning no changes

From the Gary Post-Tribune:

VALPARAISO -- Brian Gensel was sworn in as Porter County prosecuting attorney Thursday afternoon, in the courtroom where he spent 13 years as a deputy prosecutor.

Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford did the swearing in his courtroom, where Gensel, 45, was surrounded by his wife, Carleen, sons Daniel and Nathan and other family and friends. * * *

Gensel, a Hammond native, graduated from Morton High School, Purdue University Calumet and Valparaiso University. A Republican, he ran unopposed for prosecutor in the spring primary election.

Gensel will continue to serve as chief deputy prosecutor until Monday. He was sworn in Thursday so that family, in town for the holidays, could attend the ceremony.
