Ind. Courts - "Ex-court official is disciplined"

The Indiana Supreme Court on Friday accepted an agreement ending disciplinary proceedings against a former Marion Superior Court commissioner.Former Master Commissioner Nancy L. Broyles, who presided over the post-conviction case of a man exonerated of rape, is permanently banned from serving as a judge, even temporarily. She and the Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications reached the agreement last week.
Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard dissented, deeming the sanction inadequate. Broyles retired last year, soon after Harold David Buntin won his freedom after court mistakes resulted in a long delay in a ruling granting his request to set aside the conviction.
Disciplinary charges are still pending against Judge Grant Hawkins, who had a two-day hearing before three judges this week.
