Ind. Law - "Updated feticide bill returns to state Senate"

Jon Murray of the Indianapolis Star reports today on SB 236:

The Indiana Senate will now consider whether to approve a bill passed Monday by the House that would impose up to 20 years in prison for crimes that lead to the death of an unborn child at any stage of development.

The bill passed the House 95-0 after passing the Senate 40-9. The House kept the Senate bill largely intact; the only amendment to Senate Bill 236 replaced references to the death of a child in utero with language referring to the termination of a human pregnancy, matching existing language in the state's feticide law.

See this Feb. 2nd ILB entry for background.
