Ind. Courts - "Johnson County deputy prosecutor resigns after DUI arrest"

That is the headline of Vic Ryckaert's Indianapolis Star story posted yesterday. It begins:

A Johnson County deputy prosecutor has resigned after he was arrested Sunday on drunken driving charges.

Andrew "Drew" Eggers, 32, was arrested after a traffic stop in Franklin about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a Franklin Police Department report.

He was a deputy prosecutor in the juvenile division, according to the Johnson County prosecutor's website, and also serves as a Republican, member of the Franklin City Council.

Johnson County Prosecutor Brad Cooper said Eggers resigned Monday morning. Eggers still holds his council seat.

A Franklin officer stopped Eggers' Dodge Dakota pickup truck for turning without a signal about 2 a.m. Sunday in a neighborhood near Ind. 44 and Jefferson Street, according to a police report.
